Season restructures the year in almost every category. Demand for aesthetics, medical, dining, and luxury home services climbs sharply from October through April as seasonal residents return, then falls. Hurricane season drives its own cycle from June through October for contractors and home services. Because rankings take months to move, the content and reviews built in the quiet months are what capture the busy ones. Google's local algorithm weighs distance to the searcher more heavily than any other factor, which is why a business ranks well within a mile of its office and disappears a few miles away.
